New! Board Gear Site Launched

The Center for Charter Schools is proud to announce the launch of its "Board Gear" web site designed to meet the unique needs of charter school board members.

The new site can be launched by clicking on the "Board Gear" tab along the top navigation row on the Center's home page or by: http://thecenterforcharters.org/boardgear/.

We named it Board Gear because it is designed to meet the unique needs of charter school board members. To accomplish their mission, they need to be equipped with the right tools. Our goal is to help ensure their success - so all the gear they need for the mission - from the basic essentials to emergency information - is all right here in Board Gear.

Inside Boar Gear, you will find monthly video messages, an interactive monthly calendar, and a handbook for board members called Board Essentials, and a wealth of other resources.

The monthly video messages are designed to inform and inspire, and ensure that we all stay laser focused on the core mission - student achievement.

The interactive calendar is designed to provide boards and management team a road map to anticipate and plan for what's coming. Topics worthy of the boards' time are organized into three core areas: Academic Performance, Fiscal Performance and Governance.

Board Essentials is the go-to guide for both new and veteran board members. We named it "Board Essentials" because it is succinct and contains the essential information and resources board members need to fulfill their mission. Watch for a hard copy version of Board Essentials to be release in March.

Board Gear is a work in progress - please offer suggestions as you explore the site which can help make it the most complete board tool available.
