The Governor John Engler Center for Charter Schools at Central Michigan University is pleased to announce that six new charter public schools opened in the fall of 2013. Each successful group of applicants that developed these schools underwent a rigorous review and selection process to receive a charter contract. The six new schools are:

In addition, five schools authorized by Central Michigan University have been named 'Schools of Excellence'.  These schools are:

CMU is a state and national leader in charter school authorizing, with 19 years of experience launching, supporting and overseeing charter public schools. CMU currently authorizes 64 schools serving nearly 30,000 students in the state.
